Revenge

Cursed sweet, revenge comes latest, takes its toll.
Emotions build with fearsome blaze and flow.
The fragile peace of harmony of yore.
Forfeited, lost forevermore.
Within hearts, a bubbling cauldron seethes
A vengeful deed the spark of ruin breathes.
A thrice cursed weapon for one soul's sin.
Focus on anger, the devil's chagrin.
A broken heart could just as easily be.
The two halves of darkness split into three.
Hatred and pain bring only empty gloom.
When used to punish, revenge is doomed.
The heart's peace, a soft joyous chime,
Echoes blindness when rage rules mind.
The means of vengeance bear no fruit.
But instead, hard sorrow's bitter root.
Cursed sweet, revenge cannot restore
Lost love, gone forevermore,
Until the last days set free.
Shame's balm salves pain's agony.
