Roses are red:
Blue
Pink
Yellow
White
Etc
A meaning for each they gave
A gift that brings a smile upon one's face.
All that they meant to mean,
Is things that should last forever.
But ponder I do:
What destiny holds for a rose,
To wither and die.
Does that give this very fate
To the ones that gifts and receives
Oh but what about those thorns :
If one pricks the finger upon them,
Does hurt and pain fall upon the heart
Should it better mean:
To give one a rose with roots,
To plant and let allow to flourish
Shall bring a couple eternal love.
