Ruminate

As I sit by the fire watching the snow fall,
I pictured you sitting near the wall
Laughing cheerfully as the baby crawls
The image sweet and savory
Thoughts of the future,
Thoughts if what could be.
What could become of you and me?
The image printed in my mind,
but no action taken.
For we both are to afraid to pursue.
Both afraid of what this could possibly ensue
Is it love? Is it lost? Is this something that's a must?
Today, tomorrow, another place in time.
But as for now in this time ruminate there is no answer set in the clear
If neither you nor I take a bold and difficult leap, then we must set end to this bush that is so far beat.
For beating around it has deteriorated its leafs and drawn out its color.
What was once beautiful and bright, is now left brittle and frail.
