Saturday at six am
This morning is okay
I can hear some birds
Saying it's time
To start the day
Saturday's used to be
Cereal and cartoons
Now that I'm older
It's coffee that
I can't get too soon
Saturday's used to be watching
Wrestling in the afternoon
But since I'm older
Listening to music
Is better than the tube
Saturday's used to be playing
Outdoor things like baseball
But as I got older
If I run too much
I'm afraid I might fall
Saturday's used to be fun
Friends would come to visit
Now that we're older
They're all too busy
To make the trip
Saturday's used to be great
Walking the dog all around
Now that I've gotten older
The dog now gone
I don't hear his sound
Saturday's I longed for
The partying was never over
Now I'm a bit older
I'm in bed by nine pm
Resting my sore shoulder
