U

Saw you again today, Well, in my dreams A reality that blurs The illusion…

Saw you again today,
Well, in my dreams
A reality that blurs
The illusion between you and me.
I was happy,
Or maybe just floating,
Like a helium balloon drifting,
We talked. God, we talked.
About everything.
About nothing.
Words spilling out like they were meant for you
Before they were ever meant for me.
I laughed. I felt light.
Like a child who still believed
That some things may last forever.
Your voice..steady, familiar
Felt like home.
Your laughter echoed inside my ribs,
Filling the empty spaces I pretend don’t exist.
I wanted to stay.
Could have stayed forever.
But dreams are cruel.
The world cracked at the edges.
Something splintered, something drifting.
And suddenly, you were fading away.
A crowd. A blur.
Strangers pushing, pulling, taking you from me.
Hands dragging me back,
No matter how hard I fought.
I reached for you.
Please. Stay.
You reached too.
But that wasn't fast enough.
Fingertips brushed,
Trying to hold on for just another moment.
But then you were gone.
Swallowed by the blur of people.
I screamed your name.
But the air was too thick
For my voice to reach.
And you were gone.
Just like always.
I woke up to silence.
To an empty room.
To a hollow space in my chest.
And the worst part?
I know I’ll see you again.
And I’ll fall for it.
Over and over and over.
I just don’t know what’s worse
Wanting you to stay,
Or hoping to never see you again.
