She hides behind a mask,
Afraid to let the world see,
The person she truly is,
The person she longs to be.
She's scared of what they'll say,
Scared of being judged and wrong,
So she keeps her true self hidden,
In a place where it belongs.
She wants to be accepted,
But she's scared to take the chance,
So she keeps her true self locked away,
In a shell of circumstance.
But deep down she knows,
That hiding is not the way,
To be truly happy,
And live life to the fullest each day.
So she takes a deep breath,
And lets her true self show,
She shines bright like a star,
And lets her light glow.
She learns that being true to herself,
Is the only way to be,
And now she's free,
To be who she wants to be.
