The country road -
abandoned and dark.
A single set of headlights ,
a roaring engine -
breaking night's silence.
Looking at her review mirror ,
she prays she's made some distance.
Slowing down ,
she takes in a deep breath.
She remembers the first day,
that she had met him.
He looked like an angel ,
a fallen angel.
He did no wrong ,
he was perfect.
But here she is -
running from him.
Looking to the sky infront of her ,
she sees the moon ,
big and bright.
With no one to confide in ,
she welcomes its heavenly glow.
She spills her secrets -
the way he had hit her ,
the way she had cried.
She tried keeping a secret from him ,
but soon , he would of come to know.
Looking down at her belly ,
her mother instinct kicks in.
Her unborn child ,
should not have him as a father.
If he had known ,
oh , how she would of suffered.
With no friends and family ,
how would she manage in this new town.
But...
All she knows is ,
that she needs to keep this a secret -
till the day she dies.
