"Seeking The Words To Say" Another version.

For three score and seven I've sought
The words I wish to say
While my heart thinks them
My mind gets in the way,
Oft times my mind will go on
An insane mood swing
Tis then I lash out
Saying words meant to sting,
At six I wrote my first poem
Jotted down several verse
I then read it aloud
Taking no time to rehearse,
I can only recall a few times
When I thought of poetry not
Then I'd feverishly write to rekindle a fire
While the ambers were still hot,
One Christmas I was so broke
I could barely afford a card
I wrote a poem for Mom and Dad
The flow of words not that hard
I hid the card in the tree
Ashamed I was so poor
My Mom found and read it
From Dad's eye's tears did pour,
Oh, They knew I wrote poetry
Barely giving a passing thought
After Dad read that poem
He ignored my poetry not,
I have slowly honed my skill
Saying words sweet and soft
Words meant to make one smile
To take a pained heart aloft,
I used to write for my exlove
Who got a poem everyday
She shattered my heart
No kind words to her I wish not to say.
