Before we start to yell and curse
To take a step back and regroup
Before we start to lose our cool
Let us seek to understand
And try to lend a helping hand
To see things through the other's eyes
Before we start to criticize
Let's pause and think about what we can do
To help the other break on through
To show respect no matter what
Before we start to make a ruckus
Let's open our hearts and minds
Before we start to be unkind
And strive to understand our plight
