Lounging languidly at the foot
Of the pond's shore
Wetland beneath my feet
Sinking my pale toes into mushy sand
Preceivable frogs and dragonflies are calming
My eyes linger on the slight ripples caused by their manic movements
Cattails bend slightly to the southern breeze
Leading me into a calming trance
The natural air smells of pleasing aromas that allow my mind to wander
Beams of light reflecting off the top of the clear water
Droplets can be seen evaporating back up to the blue sky
I tell myself to appreciate the warmth of the day
A need to take it easy and shut off the nagging thoughts of tomorrow's worries
All I have to do is surrender myself to the serene scene
Slipping away into the present moment
This time of tranquility
On the shore of a peaceful pond
