Serpent's Liar
If you haven't
seen a serpent you
will see one. Putting
on every error, they
declare they're mild
but they live wild.
They sit and chill
watching to see
who they can kill.
Using every word,
their viper awake
for their sake to
strike a victim.
Looking for prey
they stalk every
move you make.
Where you're
coming from?
they ask just to
take a look into
your imperfection
to see your reflection.
While they pearce
your skin with every
bite, you don't see
it in sight. Leaving
its mark with every
strike, it roam. Now
you're feeling sore
after every meeting.
So when you see
it, you run for cover.
Thinking you've mastered
it, they come up with
another lure. This
time, they come up with
a different tactic. One
with a different color
a different face. You
wonder, where do
this one stay? Then
you sit in your place
thinking thoughts
and feeling words
of sorry till there's
no tomorrow.
With an arrow aimed
at your heart for your
part you've better
not start to think
of self or else your
mental wealth will be
sore due to the
serpent's liar.
May God Almighty
help you because
of the serpent who
sheds they skin
where your heart
can't mend.
