Today is different,
Today is new.
I'm standing in the background,
Getting her through.
I know it's hard,
I see the scars.
I know that life can tear her apart.
Im seven now.
But before, I was six.
I'm the oldest seven year old,
Even though I'm a kid.
I like dinosaurs and cars,
Lego's built wide and far.
I lay out each night,
And count each and every star.
Reading this,
You could never understand.
That I'm a little boy,
Living in a girl named Sam.
You would never know,
No matter if I show.
That I'm a little boy,
Who loves to play in the snow.
I love running,
And I love the mud!
I love everything a little boy does.
And I know you can't see me;
You don't know how.
All you see is an adult,
Crying and loud.
I know I look like a girl,
With makeup and curls.
I seem excessive,
"Living in my own world"
But it's true,
Just like the sky is blue.
I'm a little boy.
Who just needs joy,
For all that I've been through.
