The love given to me is abundant
All around me seem to see my worth
I love them back with full sincerity
Not knowing how long they'll be here
They use me for bad examples
They claim I disappear in darkness
I thought they knew me
They never did. And they've not tried to
I have never been born fair or white
My complexion is always black
Whenever I blend into my environs
They claim I am gone
But the truth they never look for is
'Where do I go if I leave?'
I am always with them
In their times of joy and cries
Why do they treat me like it's all my fault?
While they keep on blaming me for being dark, I'll always be with them as commanded.
