we come together for one night
to eat dinner without a fight
but everyone doesn't want to see the other side of the table
we try to laugh and talk to keep our true feelings press
we all want to leave but everyone needs to at least be attached by a thread
but everyone's emotions have already been read
when everyone finally leaves we are so glad to be left alone
but then a child gets a call on their phone
