SHE...

I wouldn't say she was okay
I wouldn't say she had everything figured out
Because I'd see her smiling around her friends
Then later hear her cry behind the bathroom door
She was this girl who tried to impress everyone
Tried so hard to fit in
Did everything everyone did
Just to appear on the trend
Someone would think she was truely happy
For once she laughed her laughter brought
Joy to everyone around her
When alone, she always wrote on her diary
When everyone was busy in class
she'd take it out and write her heart out
She had this magic of keeping everything
To her self that no one knew anything
about her
She'd appear in parties all dressed up
But no one knew where she staid
So one day I saw her book
One day I read her diary
I couldn't hold back my tears
For she was in pain
She was struggling to maintain her smile
While in the background people picked on her
Her friends never liked her
And all she wanted was to belong somewhere
At her home wasn't fun either
Her parents couldn't stop fighting
She never felt at home in a place she called home
She was lonely and sad
Lost her self trying to be what others
wanted her to be
I even noticed she never liked music
But since it was the coolest thing in school
She faked it
Then I began seeing beyond her smile
Her painful laughter
Echoed in my head like a cry of help
Her eyes screamed "help me"
While her lips said "I was fine"
One day I found her locked in the bathroom
I later learned her friends did that
I asked her why she always followed them
And she angrily screamed "you'll never understand"
That sentence felt like
"please rescue me, my sadness is killing me"
I just kept quiet and watched her walk away
Then this video started trending
in our school facebook group
Everyone talked about it and I had to look for it
What I saw completely shocked me
A video of her naked
Someone must have recorded her while showering
And my guess was right "her friends "
Everyone labelled her a slut
A hypocrit, a pretender
And all sort of other names
And I knew this was the final blow
She was expelled from school
Her parents never said anything
Then this day as I was going to her place
Just to find out how she was
She stormed out of the house crying
Her mother ran after her until she couldn't anymore
So I decided to ran after her
Only to find her almost jumping over the bridge
I tried going close but she threatened to jump if I did
So I stood in a distance
With tears in my eyes
I told her my own story
Showed her my scars
Then went close and held her so tight
A passerby helped her over
and we sat there talking
