She tried to chase the stars (an extended metaphor

She tried to chase the stars, the biggest embodiment of how she wanted the things she couldn't have. This drove her to a sadness, crying at night for that which was something that would never be inside her reach. Maybe once in a time, she was the center of it all, a magnificent middle of the universe. But now, she is spread across the stars, confined to a small body that isnt as nearly as capable of attaining that which she once had. Maybe it's that which fueled her impossible wants, the emptiness caused by the grand scale which she once had. Or maybe, she valued more the difficulty of getting things than the value of the items itself, and that is what left her cold, because the want itself was more unattainable then the items that she longs for.
And so she lost it all, for the stars that once rotated around her celestial body have forsaken her now mortal version, leaving her in that form. This betrayal hurt as much as the unreachable dreams she had, for she had once been their center. Now they leave her, but her pained calls could never reach a cosmic scale, and not even the humans that she's now a part of answered. For her weeping was foreign, they bled of a pain that was unknown to them, for they only knew it's crimson color. Self hate was the majority of the pain and it stained everything, for she was raised on the idea that bad things happened when you had ill-intent and sinful actions, so she blamed herself for those wrongs. She thought that it was a darker core that gave her this punishment. Maybe it was cruel to let her think that the universe didn't care about intent.
