She's different from the rest

She's different from the rest

I hate being in love
Remembering the times in the beginning
Excited for the next time the phone's ringing
And it's that special person, your heart starts singing
Before it's pierced by sharp tongue stingings
I hate being in love
When no amount of attention was enough
Quality time for us
And we would joke and laugh about all kinds of stuff
Before the smiles were few to none replaced with sighs and huffs
I hate being in love
Writing this stupid poem because I need some sort of outlet
Upset at what I say but haven't open my mouth yet
The route's set in the wrong direction can't seem to reroute it
I hate being in love
Every fucking thing is an argument
Pushed to the edge then complain about how far I went
In her one person parliament
Yet,
I'm accountable for all the shit
I hate being in love
Caught feelings now I care about what you say
Hurt by what you do, but I dont show it and say it's okay
Seeking the look in your eye where interest used to stay
And passion and desire and craving night and day
I hate being in love
Knowing that something was there and feeling it's gone
When expressions of affection and intimacy are wrong
No more reaffirmations so doubts may live on
No more confirmations that you're the only one
I hate being in love
I've never fully enjoyed it
At first it starts as bliss then the bullshit comes and spoils it
In the end it's only me putting in effort and toiling
Before she decides to give up or move on and flush it all down the toilet
I hate being in love
I hate being in love
I hate being in love
I hate being in love.
