Shriveled Beauty

A flower bloomed in the garden
It was the epitome of simple beauty
With a colour that was subtly attractive and petals that looked really soft
The flower drew my attention
And in a moment of short-term vision
I plucked it off from the stem and happily walked away
I said to myself, ' Well, I'll water it so it does not die'
Two days passed, and i got bored of the flower
It had lost its vibrancy, the colour was fading and the petals were dropping off
So now i told myself, 'Well, I tried. I knew it would die someday, that day might as well be today.'
Into the bin it went, and as i shut the lid and walked away
A thought dropped in my head, "Imagine what that flower would have become if you had just admired it from afar."
