Silly You, My Dear (repost)

Burning bridges
Building walls
Vibrant fire
Hot desire
I want to be someone
I want to entertain the thoughts
Rapid in my mind
But I've made a promise
To never fulfill such pitiful deeds
Both to you,
And to me
You asked while I was near,
"Would you ever really kill yourself?"
Silly you, my dear.
I need you, just to be
Alive, awake, tranquil, and at ease,
Without you I cannot see
Nor can I multi-task
For tears fill my eyes
And blood fills my hands
And I'm far too busy
Dragging my weight through the sand
Of course I would.
If you were gone,
I'd have nothing left.
So I'd simply said,
"Only if it got really bad,"
In an oddly childish tone,
Followed gloomily by,
"And only if you weren't here..."
Silly you, my dear.
Believing such a simple tale as truth.
Of course with you gone,
I'd have nothing better to do.
But it wasn't as simple as it had seemed.
If you were in pain,
Or in misery,
That too,
Would trigger loss of SANITY
As it has before.
To my disadvantage,
It requires just that, sanity,
To operate under full control
And though it cannot be helped,
I'm quite disappointed with myself
For not trying harder to protect you and I
It's quite amusing
How you believe you can protect us both
Silly you, my dear.
You're in danger,
And so am I.
As you protect me,
I am forced to save you.
Though you aren't strong enough
To fix all my flaws,
To catch all the bullets thrown at me.
So as I fall, I can no longer save you,
And you cannot save me.
We will both fall,
You and I together.
Silly you, my dear.
I won't leave you.
I'll hold your lifeless body, forever.
