The Silver Lining
------------------
an original poem by M. Thompson
Find the beauty in the ugly.
Find the purity in muggy.
find the facts within the fiction,
and the peace inside of friction.
Find your courage through your fears,
and your clarity through tears.
Find direction and confusion,
Find what's real in the illusion.
Find the calm inside the storm
and find the drive when you are worn.
Find the blessings that are given,
though sometimes, seem to be hidden.
Find the path when there's terrain
that seems impossible, insane...
Find a through when there's a wall;
a safe way down when it's a fall.
Always find the silver lining,
even if the sun's not shining...
Even if it's black and dreary
and you're stumbling and weary.
Always persevere with meaning...
Even if the stars aren't gleaming.
In the core of your worst pain,
you're still breathing all the same.
And I know it's hard to see it...
So you have to just believe it.
Find your faith where there was doubt,
Find escape, a way, an out.
Find your footing when you're sliding -
Never lose that silver lining.
There are blessings in disaster.
Out of nothing, there's an after.
There's a reason to keep trying.
There is more to life than dying.
Find yourself as you are finding
the guiding, constant silver lining.
And eventually you'll master
Staying grounded through disaster.
Out of hopelessness comes laughter...
Out of nothing, there's an after.
In that after there are reasons,
In those reasons, brand new seasons.
Everywhere you look you're finding
Tons of guiding, silver lining.
Even if tomorrow brings
An arsenal of painful things...
There'll be blessings in disaster.
As long as HOPE is what you're after.
