Small Talk
I hate small talk, the emptiness it brings,
words that flutter aimlessly, without any strings.
“How’s the weather?” “Nice to see you.”
It’s all just a show,
a forced exchange where nothing deep can grow.
I crave conversations that pull at the soul,
where we share our fears, our dreams, and our goals.
Let’s talk about the scars that time can’t erase,
the hopes that light our nights, the truths we embrace.
I want to know the stories that shaped who you are,
the battles you've fought, every triumph and scar.
Let’s leave behind the chatter that keeps us apart,
and speak with the language that flows from the heart.
For in those moments, where we truly connect,
we find a richness that small talk neglects.
So spare me the surface, the trivial and vain,
let’s dive into the depths, and break free from the chain.
