A

Soliloquy

When you left,
I broke into a funeral,
Quiet like an abandoned City
Painted in blue, gray, and dirty white.
I have nothing left to say
But my mind
Is a bucket of questions
Stuck into the roof of my mouth.
I do not expect answers,
Silence is enough.
This distance,
I know too well
Is a bridge
Between us that
We don't dare cross anymore
Yet, we don't have the guts
Of burning down.
It's been 16 years
Still, I chase memories
While sipping and chewing
On fresh scars and old wounds
In hidden restos & posh cafes.
Meet me on the day I'd Move on
From this overrated bubble
They call Forever,
Bear with me,
It may take some time,
It may take a while, I know
This familiar ache
Stuck to my bones,
Is going to stay longer
Than Winter of 1999.
