She dragged herself into one mishap after another.
No one could save her, not even her mother.
Spiraling out of control within her own demented mind.
The " happy place" she could never find.
What brought her to be like this,
Her illness, accompanied by the voices she never missed.
Besotted and dreary, she lives through her best.
No tears touches her face, alone she waits, for the worst to pass, she confessed.
Nobody should see her at her worst, she will scare you back in your nightmares.
Exposed to all who can see, and bare.
I saw this woman and so helpless I had felt,
I thought I could help her, then I carried doubt.
She won't let you in to her darkest world, because everything around her, dies.
She would be afraid that you would leave to that is no lie.
You can watch her from a far, but never get close enough
This is her tough love.
Love and accept the way she turned out to be.
Because I have, and maybe at times she will depend on me.
Solo she walks the streets,
If she is lucky, a gentleman she may meet.
Alarming as this may seem, if you get close enough, you will notice that she doesn't sleep.
