Maybe when we find ourselves we'll be lost some place somewhere else. And even if this isn't hell, I know that heavens useless now.
Maybe we both seek the truth and we're just sick of being used. And even when you're all alone, please know my heart is still your home.
Maybe I'm afraid of lies, and hold onto your sweet goodbyes. But even though it's just a ride, please don't give up and hold on tight.
Maybe karma comes too soon before mistakes come into view. But even in the darkest rooms my light will always shine for you.
Maybe patience is a test we've mastered till we're second best.
Maybe time has frozen days and now we cycle through the pain.
Maybe we're just human beings in search of love, who long for peace.
Maybe sorry isn't much yet somehow makes us crave the lust.
Maybe distance broke us down, and now we have to stand our ground.
Maybe freedom has a fee, and egos kill you when you peak.
Maybe words are make believe, when tears fall down and you can't speak.
Maybe when we go away we'll find ourselves a better place, where hatred seems to wash the waves of doubt until we're saved.
Maybe mirrors show you photos of things you've seen & things you don't know. But then again it's in the pieces of who we are behind the meaning.
Maybe water always falls like little kids that learn to crawl. Who then grow old & walk, stand tall, with broken backs against the wall. Just like a ball they bounce & fall, and through it all they hear the calls of shattered screams from down the hall.
Maybe I'm afraid to let go of what I've known and it hurts to know that in my soul is a painful rose that can't be touched in a garden where it grows.
