somewhere in 1950
by the Jameson's bar
serenaded by the sweet oo country music
one my rodeos and I
swang by,
somewhere in 1950
the waitress spoke in delight
and we'd enjoy 'em bar fights
under the bright and dim disco lights,
somewhere in 1950
i squabbled down a shot a whisky
and by the corner,
she sat there all pretty,
as she enjoyed her soda
winking her eyes towards me,
somewhere in 1950
last i remember
i had four more shots
i met her,
She was Divine
and i was Wine,
we blended,
a shot more
till i was passed out,
morning came
found her by my side
she was all smiles,
Divine said;
"Oo Wine,ain't you so fine,"
i giggled in confusion
but it happened all night
and she seemed all right,
somewhere in 1950
i met divine all pretty,
Now it's 2019
Divine is no more,
our kids are all grown,
I'm all alone
gazing at the slow wave at shore,
wish I'd get back to 1950
at Jameson's bar
where Divine was all sexy and pretty,
Lone to the world
Divine was all i had....
