Welcome to planet Earth little dude.
Apparently you have to cry or the nurses will call you rude.
Take a look at me, sorry..I meant him.
Our level of identity fills up a bottle to it's brim.
I can almost envision his tiny feet walking a mile in my shoes.
On his own path, making up his own rules.
Before all that, I will teach him how to catch a ball
And teach him how to rise after each fall.
I will teach him the art of declining things that are irrelevant
And most importantly to always be benevolent
He will appreciate the power of ambition
Because one way or another, it leads to acquisition.
How to knot a tie will be on the menu
And how to be a gentleman regardless of the venue.
Physically, it's like looking in a mirror
But I pray his demeanor cometh with no error.
I will cherish him everyday of my life
In times of peace and in times of strife.
