Sorrow before the dawn

when i was awakened by the turmoilous life, i was unaware that it was all a trick. false comfort, that i fell deep within the dream. i was made to believe in hope, promised that it was real. then i became the pestilence that taints the beautiful garden. in memory of what i was, never to kiss the sun. as it burns, tears are all i can consume. as my hate lingers on, my sorrow grows. drowning any salvation. yet i am never alone. though shadows have been good company, i seek deliverance. or i may conspire to remain defiant in the face of my executioners mask. never to lead them to my tears, which somehow sustaining my light.
