Sounds at night

Quarter after ten at night

Cars and motorbikes go by

Engines revving, gas ignites

Just find the brakes and apply

The e-bikes passing are popular

But charge your battery well

You may only go a kilometer

Without any power to propel

Strange sounds at night

Only thing on is the streetlights

I hope nothing gives me a fright

Or I will have to run back inside

A scream down the street

Some guys partying I believe

They aren't being too discreet

I bet the music is pretty neat

A jet flying up in the air

The rumble of rockets blare

The sound subsides up there

As it speeds past to its affair

Strange sounds at night

Only thing on is the streetlights

I pray nothing gives me a fright

Or I will have to rush back inside

The night is very eerie now

Noises come from the dark

That's my cue to finish this poem

Before a coyote leaves his mark

Strange sounds at night
