Every night I listen to the sound
The noise around me brings me down
I hear gun shots and seem so close to me
Wonder just where it could really be
Was it a dope deal go bad
A guy beating on his girl cause he's mad
Maybe a kid that though he was playing some kinda game
Someone life will never be the same
It never changes the problem of this world today
The troubles that are here to stay
Drugs, homelessness, poverty and other battles we face each day
Will things every become quite
Silent when I lay down at night
Noise that won't be heard
Because justice has been served
Nothing but crickets I will hear
Wind that blows so clear
A silent night finally to hear
