S

Space.

Space,
Not outer but inner space,
Like the spaces between the teeth,
Created by the tooth fairy,
In a fantasied sleep.
Like the gravity in space,
Slowly in motion,
falling with caution.
Like the pace you make as you stroll,
A step at a time,
An increased pace and the run.
Hope one would like to follow the trail,
Filling the space you have made,
A new tenant in the empty room.
Like the space key on a keyboard,
Not QWERTY or home row keys,
The spacekey is a means of separation,
Yet not separation as in separating,
But a way of ordering your text,
Spacing them out closer to the next.
So, is the gap you've created in my heart.
A total absence,
From my presence.
Well, I haven't lost you yet
For you're reordering our friendship,
To save our sinking ship.
Not like the space between your fingers,
Which comes together,
To cling a fist,
Tight around my wrist.
Save the disagreement,
Bury the hatred and arguments.
For our relationship,
And it's created space,
Is like the pores of the skin,
Or the cranium of the skull,
Never to be separated.
So understand me and give me some space.
Not an outer but inner space,
To be better, and yours forever.
