Standing before the mirror,
trying to decipher what or whom i see.
I edge that much closer... nearer.
to make what is so vague that much clearer.
The figure of which should be a reflection & vision of me, on which i cast my gaze.
Is quite unfamiliar & hidden in mist & haze.
So upon closer inspection & hardened glance.
I see two ethereal shadows by chance; standing just behind & to each side of me.
Just out of view hard to see.
It was then i realized that who was unfamiliar to my gaze, had been my spirit which within me lies.
& by my choice in God or Satan eternally lives or dies.
For one offers eternal life, peace unto my soul.
& the other whishes to devour me whole.
Then both emerged from the enshrouding mist.
One beckoned with an open hand,
to enter his promised land.
While the other held a red penned list & ragefully shook a fist.
So for them both being titans of their domain.
They made ready for battle on the spiritual plane.
& as they came together with a clash.
I awoke to a resounding crash.
Standing before a broken mirror & shattered glass, drenched in sweat to the bone.
In my bedroom all alone...
Then & there i dropped to my knees.
I cried out, "Lord save me please!"
For while asleep,
There had been a battle for whom may have my soul to keep.
& then finding there a cross among the glass. I recieved a cut upon my palm.
& immediately remembered a line of the twenty- third psalm.
then I looked within my hand, my answer was there.
Blood & the cross.
Reminding me of the final cost.
& never again would i be lost.
