The other day, I was reminded
How when a pivotal moment happened in my life, you were the first person I'd want to tell
My automatic reaction was to reach out and share whatever had happened, no matter how trivial it may have seemed
You would respond in less than a split second
And the anticipation began because the moment I pressed 'send,' I knew that a smile on my face was sure to follow
Our interactions and our lives were so securely and intimately intertwined
It was exactly what each of us needed
You and I shared everything
Until you didn't
Slowly and sadly, your responses started taking longer
Soon they spanned several minutes and hours
Gradually, days and then weeks
And now
There's just no response at all
