Static Thunder

Morning has finally broken the night. I can sense it's safe to come out, no need to fight. I should be out in the morning light, but in my house I sit drained from the night.
Behind the lime light, the tidal wave has strewn my soul, out of place. Where there was once light, it's just a flickering sight. I fell out of the tightly guarded nest. When all I truly needed was rest.
I thought I knew what's best. But it was never at my behest, to fix this insidious mess. It wasn't the lie I couldn't forsee, it was me… As I know this future isn't for me.
Fog blankets the city. It consumes the skyline. This city was never mine. Is this just another sign, to concede defeat? Is this why I can never stand on my own two feet?
So I wander the city streets, as static electricity inhabitants the essence of me. I am left empty, as a part of my lover was torn from thunder.
The hate you bestowed onto me, took away any hope I once held inside, it was this paradox that left me perplexed. I'd try to refrain, you were flooding my brain, with ice cold rain.
