Stigma

I would do anything for them.
But who is there to hold me up when I have the blues?
As cold as the December snow.
They shut me out.
All the times I didn't want to talk about it.
I was just holding back my tears.
It's the culture we lived in.
We were conditioned not to express our fears.
It's not that we lacked emotion.
We were frozen like stone.
Never show weakness to your peers.
Fuck the tough guy stigma.
Look what that stigma did to me after all these years.
I cried for their acceptance.
Like it's some kind of penance.
But they kept spitting in my face.
I wish I could just forget this.
