I look across an empty field of decay it is littered with trash old rusted grocery carts broken boards filled with nails not a fit place for kids to play
Broken glass is scattered throughout this field of misery and despair I walk by two to three times every day and no one stops or even cares
The buildings around it have been closed for years people have come to a point to except this as a norm I fear
We as people must ask ourselves are, we better than this or do we continue down the path of destruction and not give it another min of our time case dismiss
Our children they watch us and learn from our behaviors and our actions those behaviors flow down to them so this becomes standard to them through our inaction
I did not ask for any help I would not sit and do nothing no more I would not stay inside and hide so on a sat I grabbed my broom rake trash bags and gloves and began to take back our pride
The lot was two acres of filth and garbage I just stood there. For about 5 minute looking at all that waist and carnage
I knelt and cried then I got up to work it was hot blue sky not even a breeze I worked all day till sunset I found 4 wallets with 90 dollars 1 gun 3 knives and 5 sets of keys
The next day I was out there again about two hours into the day two gentleman began to help we just went back to work there was nothing else to say
Those two became forty in a matter of a few hours and we finished by sunset on Sunday and we took back what was ours
Don’t let your inactions become a reality we as people our better than that stop the insanity
