Her name is Martha
She used to be an Anglican
Now she is happy a methodist
She used to be a drummer
Now she is happy a pianist
She used to be the victim of unspeakable abuses
Now she is a feminist activist
She had excuses, But she never used them
She refuses to be a defeatist
She sure is strange.
She is a woman of plenty scars,
Resentful past
Physically gassed and emotionally drained
But all of these she surpassed
She is a strange woman,
She is a queen and a goddess
She is strong and fearless
She is brave and dauntless
Even when she finds herself helpless
In the middle of a tempest
She comes out on top with great finesse
I awe at her divine prowess
She sure is strange.
