Subliminal Thoughts

I believe in the fact

that things happen for a reason.

Respect ain’t worth earning,

and people aren’t worth pleasing,

because they always end up leaving.

You can try and try,

but they still aren’t seeing

the effort you’ve spent

trying to help everyone around you

when you can’t help yourself.

Most couldn’t understand

how that must have felt.

I’ve got nobody—

I’m here by myself.

But that is okay,

because I’ve got my angels

here by my side,

protecting me from all angles.

These subliminal thoughts

got me up at night.

Money is tight,

I’m not doing alright.
