He bore our death and sin
on the cross of unimaginable grief
in some very agonizing scene
true love, He relentlessly gives
Being in the form of God
He humbled himself to a servant form
equated not himself with God
but became obedient unto death
even the death on the cross.
His final breath
Paid our debts
o death, where's thy sting
o grave, where's thy victory
descended into Hades,
conquered death in victory
and ascended up on high;
led the captivity captive
and unto men He gave the gift of immortality;
to those who truly believe
Greater love has no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends. John 15;13
