Substitute

There's a circus here in my bedroom,
Full of tricks and games of all sorts,
Not a single guest left unattended,
It's a curse to be me, giving drinks out for free,
Too humbleness,
It's something I must live with,
Treat others as such,
Hoping that one day you'll meet that same gratitude,
And sure it might be too much,
But look how much you're willing to give,
At the risk of your love going up in flames,
My heart goes out to you,
Have you read all the letters I've written,
About the masterpiece that you are,
Sure this has been said for centuries,
Doesn't mean any less just because you regret giving a chance,
They will beat you into your shell again,
"We don't want you to feel this way again,"
So lost in the clouds of endless haze,
Do you think that I could be part of your home?
Please answer, this storm is about to blow,
My body aches,
As I give more,
Will the sky clear up?
As I make my way to you,
Sure I may just be another one,
Anything to make you less vulnerable,
But I won't stand here like a bug,
Let you step over me without getting to know my name at least,
It's something I must live with,
Treat others as such,
Hoping that one day you'll meet that same gratitude,
And sure it might be too much,
But look how much you're willing to give,
At the risk of your love going up in flames,
My heart goes out to you...
