Suffering in silence..

When I saw you crying, I should have wiped your tears.
When I saw that you were afraid, I should of stopped those fears.
When I saw you needed a friend..
I should have been their to the end.
When I saw from the look in your eyes, you didn't understand.
I should have grabbed your hand.
How you were feeling in my home.
You must have felt alone.
I know the woman I am looking at is the new you.
I miss my mother, the mom, I always knew.
So sorry that this disease is deteriating you piece by piece.
I love you still but it hurts like hell so I can imagine how you freeze.
Inside you, somewhere, you hear me, I believe.
Already ten years gone by that you have been suffering in silence.
When you told us you didn't remember, we should of understood what you meant.
Now your near the end of your years.
Now your showing us through tears.
At age eighty- five
Your still trying to survive.
We don't want you to go.
But when it's time, we just want you to know.
We love you...
This is true...
With pictures and memories you will live on.
We will tell everyone that you were strong.
You fought til the end, and still fighting on.
In our hearts you will always belong.
