I

Suicide Prevention Day

In Memory of Sylvia Plath
It was raining on the day
of my last breath
Scattered pieces of orchid
pots
litter the steps like trash
can memories worthless
pictures in my head now
, a tiny house for spiders
that will invade
Rain nursing broken stems
from funeral flowers taking
root between cracks dirty concrete suckling like
fiends
Stop them!
I don't want to see life
snuff them out like the
wheel that ran over my
smile the day that I did
Lay me out in that fancy
black dress I'm not the
one mourning
did they bring me just
to see me cry just to tell
me it would be alright
do I look alright
I wanted something pretty
not the lipstick of a whore
shiny cars and champagne
I just want to be left alone
