Sunshine Ran Away

Sunshine ran away .
Dark clouds hover everyday.
Seems I can't catch a single ray.
Come whatever may.
Today is just another day.
Sunshine ran away.
I yearn for it to warm my soul.
Struggled all my life with letting go.
Wallowing in a pit of loneliness.
I've tried to put my ghosts to rest.
Only to have them put me to the test.
Some days are black.
Some days are gray.
Every once in a while a blue one gets in the way.
One constant remains sunshine ran away.
Sunshine ran away.
Emotions get lost in the grey.
Hoping it will be back some day.
Until then I wait with bated breath.
I might just be waiting till my death.
