I am a woman...this hell cooked black skin meant to be a burden I will forever wear serves as my shield, a medal of Honor I will wear with pride, for now they will see that there is no hell I can't survive...a stain in what was meant to be God's pure earth, my thick lips and coarse hair shall be worn like a crown of nails, I shall testify of how my dark skin cracked but they never saw me shatter...how my eyes swelled up, but I never cried for I'd need every drop to complete this journey of life under the blazing sun of insults they throw my way...my children shall never know what it's like to be me, for there is no growth in being comfortable in your skin, they will be taught to flourish in it.... I am a woman, a superior being, I am a woman before being a "black" woman, a decendant of Eve, my womb has held kings and queens, so I won't add the " "black" when I say I am a woman, for a hero's super powers shall never be revealed
