In the race of life I stand thrilled
Cutting aimlessly through societal maze
Life is such a dungeon of existential memories
Decked with impossible possibilities
Only because my gaze is mute awhile
Moments of joy are only but a massage
Anger and hatred entangled for my sake
Trusted friends became arrows of torture
Even in the midst of plenty I swim little
Only since my eyes took flight from the creator
Life is graveled with insoluble mystery
Each day is a living testimony
My journey to attain the glory of Israel
Is threatened at the sight of the Philistines
How falling is the brave on the cave of the feeble
Only because I did not sustain my gaze
Each day my eyes took flight from Him
Who is the way, the truth and the life
I feel charged for impatience and unfaithfulness
Whenever I think of the goodness of my creator
But God’s merciful love and gaze are eternally faithful
Truly, a sustained gaze is the only GRACE in every race
