Take this sacred life of mine
And break it down to see
That in this sacred life of mine
There's nothing left for me.
Once I was a gentleman
Some might even say a prince
Until trying to live this life broke me
And I've been a loser ever since.
It's not that I want to end my life
Because there are those that I still love
But I no longer believe in miracles
Or in a "god" helping me from above.
So take this sacred life of mine
And leave me living a normal life
One in which I can truly appreciate
The love of my children and of my wife.
