Items in hand
I walked to the nearest clerk
" Hey, how are you? "
He asked.
" I'm fine. How bout yourself?
I replied.
" I'm good. Can I see an ID please?
He queried.
" Sure thing. "
I said, as I was still putting items down.
The clerk noticed
I was moving awfully fast.
" Oh take your time.
There's no hurry. "
He explained
" Oh ok. "
I said.
Once I set all the items down
I slowly reached for my wallet
" Yeah, there's no hurry. "
The clerk explained again.
" O...k... "
I replied
By moving 0.5 miles an hour
I began pulling my wallet
From my pocket
" No hurry at all. "
The clerk clarified.
" O.......k........ "
I slowly said.
Fifty minutes later
I handed him my ID.
" Thank you. Will that be cash or credit? "
He asked, while handing me back my ID
" Cre.......di.......t. "
I spoke leisurely.
Two hours go by
And I got my ID back into my wallet
An hour goes by
And I got my card out.
Three hours pass
And I made it to the card machine
Five minutes
To insert my card
Six minutes
To push no cashback
Ten minutes
To sign my signature
And five minutes
To pull my card back out
An hour goes by
And my card is back in my wallet.
The clerk sighs
" Ok, would you like a receipt?
He asked.
" No.......than........k........yo.........u. "
I said.
" Ok, have a good day. "
He uttered.
" Than.........ks.........yo.....u....as........we.....ll..... "
I replied.
Fifty minutes pass
And my wallet is back in my pocket
Seven hours of walking slow
And I'm out of the store.
