Someone once taught me about love,
They showed me how it worked and how it felt,
I learned that the butterflies fluttering inside me,
Was telling me that I had a heart that love could melt,
I showed such intrigue coming to know love first hand,
It was the greatest feeling I'd ever come to feel,
They taught me how it felt to be embraced by love,
And how to tell the difference from fake love and real,
Love was known to me as the only way to live,
I was to love to live and live to love right back,
I wasn't prepared for what was soon to come,
How my heart was going to turn on me and attack,
Heartbreak made me question every glorious fact,
That was taught to me about love and it's power,
Heartbreak had the ability to swallow my butterflies,
And give me the feelings of my lonesomely cower,
If I'd have only known with love eventually comes pain,
Would I have falling as hard as I previously did,
Sometimes I wish I could go back to that moment in time,
And be that someone teaching love to some kid.
