Teachers

They are the rays of light, lighting out the darkness,
In the minds of the child, Their child too they say.
The child looks at them, trepidation, meekness,
Smothering out the questions they otherwise may.
They understand like only they do, coaxing out,
Queries, that lack of understanding might've buried,
Under strictness garb, the rubble mound of doubt,
The treasure, an anxious child might've carried.
They put the children's trust on them on a pedestal,
That might put themselves in an enquiry crystal,
That makes them think they miss out on the festal.
They are the beacons, shining out paths to futures,
That otherwise might've remained in sutures,
That might just about curtail the child's adventure.
