My tears were the fuel to my faith,
A sovereign grace wrapped in quiet ache.
I stepped on the shallow seas of sorrow,
Sank in silence, hoping for no tomorrow.
I didn’t desire to be in this place,
But pain has a purpose, a refining grace.
Tears upon tears, they streamed without end,
Each drop a prayer I could barely send.
My grief turned to flame,
A yearning I could not name—
A fire that burned deep in my chest,
A holy hunger that gave me rest.
From the well of my broken cry,
Rose a thirst the world could not satisfy.
No comfort here, no earthly balm,
Just the need for God, steady and calm.
So I drank from Heaven’s endless stream,
Awakened from my wounded dream.
And in the ashes, I saw His face—
Love unshaken, mercy and grace.
I desired more of God that night,
And He met me there in morning light.
My tears became fire, my sorrow a song—
And in His arms, I found where I belong.
