Tell fortune of her blindness,
Her ways so fickle, so untrue.
She promises riches, greatness, kindess,
But often leaves us feeling blue.
Tell nature of decay,
Her beauty fades with passing time.
Her once lush forests now mere decay,
Her mountains worn, her rivers climb.
Tell friendship of unkindness,
Of broken trust, of shattered hearts.
The bonds that once seemed so timeless,
Now torn apart, set far apart.
Tell justice of delay,
Her wheels of progress slow and creak.
Innocents left to suffer and pay,
As she takes her own sweet time to speak.
And if they will reply,
With words of comfort, words of grace.
Then give them all the lie,
For in truth, nothing stays in place.
